Tara Mobile Creches Pune (TMCP) provides an on-site crèche and after school program for children of construction workers ages 0 to 14 years, who receive nutritious meals, education support and access to extra-curricular activities besides regular health checks and psychological counselling.
Sarathi – Pathways for Transformation and Transition into Engaged Action: The initiative was designed to bring an attitudinal change across the entire Supervisory staff (Program Coordinators, Asst. Coordinators and Centre in-charges). The impact of the training was positive and led to a reduced attrition rate, proactive attitude and improved independent decision making. The team showed a general change in emotional well-being, a positive mindset in challenging situations, and were able to identify their own strengths and weaknesses, take responsibility, and engage meaningfully both at work and in their personal lives.
Saksham: A series of workshops to enhance social and emotional competencies in children between the ages of 9 to 14 years. Through this program children were given skills in planning, decision-making and a chance to lead initiatives at their TMCP centres.
Children and the TMCP team have begun to come together to discuss problems and find solutions. Children of both genders are more confident to share their views and ideas. Concentration and contemplation techniques that were taught have helped all deal with emotions of love, fear, anger, etc.
