As the Covid-19 pandemic has brought the world to a standstill, the need of the hour was to procure, and distribute food items to the households we work with and to others in the community. These include daily wage earners, migrant workers and even those who have lost their jobs or haven’t received their regular wages.
From April 2020, with the help of volunteers and partner organisations, over 4000 ration packs, that include essential food items, have been distributed in Chinchwad, Yerwada, Dattawadi and Shikrapur areas of Pune, at rural Ratnagiri in Maharashtra and the village of Binola in Haryana.
Engaging through online programs with the children at Yerwada, and with all age-groups on emotional & mental well-being has helped individuals overcome the fear, anxiety and insecurity experienced in these times.
All donations have been used exclusively to purchase the ration packs. As we continue to receive requests, we closely examine these to determine who is in dire need. For this activity, we express our deep gratitude to the donors, NGOs and to all the volunteers.
